Promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment for LGBTQ students

We are comimtted to promoting a safe and inclusive learning encironment for LGBTQ+ Students at Muckleshoot Tribal College. There are a number of community resources and programs specifically supposrting LGBTW students, staff, faculty and allies listed below:

Local (King County) Community Resources:

A center for LGBTQ youth that empowers youth through the development of leadership, social and life skills. Website: http://www.lamberthouse.org/ â€‹
A Seattle-based organization dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of the Latinx Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, and questioning community.
For more than 20 years, Seattle’s LGBTQ+ Center has curated a database of organizations that offer LGBTQ-affirming services and resources with input from our community.
The community mental health service for King County's queer community. Offers coming out support groups, crisis intervention, and sliding scale counseling services. Also offers chemical dependency services.

National Resources:

PFLAG is a national organization that supports and educates the families and friends of LGBTQ+ people.
An LGBTQ youth suicide prevention organization. The Trevor Project offers a Lifeline that is a 24/7 crisis hotline with trained counselors.
An LGBTQ media organization that uses media to promote LGBTQ acceptance, shape the narrative, and provoke dialogue that leads to cultural change. They offer a resource list of other national LGBTQ organizations.
A nonprofit organization dedicated to the wellbeing of transgender people. Trans Lifeline runs a transgender crisis hotline staffed by transgender people.
